I don't think you can without some admin software. I installed as a service so I have used the Services to restart but I also use a batch file (to clean and rotate logfiles) I just use the 'NET STOP XMail' and 'NET START XMail'. It only interrupts XMail for about a second or two and has not shown any bad side effects.
