Hawaii eh, lucky you, wish we had this conversation over there with a =
maitai
on the table. ;)=20

I think it's not windows but hardware related problem because Edinilson =
had
an exact twin server to test and it worked, although we had to recompile
xmail.
This excludes dns, blacklist, rdns, exchange, firewall and of course =
windows
and xmail.

He's problem is unique as far as I know, my previous post was just there =
to
clear this out.

Why hardware problem? Because I have a few boxes with intel xeon-64 bit =
cpu
that had very strange network time-outs, at the end it was a cisco pix =
issue
with EMT64 chips. But still they don't behave as I would like.

The other problems seem similar but at the end it turns out to be a dns
issue with packet size larger than 512, or something like that.

Thanks for the reminder about what Edinilsons original problem was - I =
am in
Hawaii on vacation and so don't have the old emails to reference for the
thread!

I don't remember seeing any more than 1 reference to a non-windows =
system
having anything similar to this problem (a Linux system) and that mail =
had
only a very small amount of info (just a connection timeout to MSN as I
recall) - why do you think Windows is no longer a possibly related =
element
to the problem?

Maybe I'm wrong here, but overwhelmingly the people that seem to be =
having
this problem have Windows, often they seem to be running Exchange, and =
often
they seem to be from Brazil (just an observation - I love Brazil!). =
Don't
you think looking for the common thread might be helpful in resolving =
ehats
going on?

I also think that a lot of the mails abou this may not even be related - =
a
timeout error is common and vrey general - Ednilsons problem is the only =
one
that has been analyzed (as I recall) to this degree - just having a =
problem
sending to MSN or Hotmail doesn't necessarily make it the same problem, =
or
am I wrong here?

Jeff
