Davide, I see from the old messages - XMail supposedly times out after getting the 220 greeting. It never sends an EHLO or HELO. If that's true... A couple of things that caught my eye! (I could be all wet!) 220 mc5-f28.hotmail.com Sending unsolicited commercial or bulk e-mail to Microsoft's computer network is prohibited. Other restrictions are found at http://privacy.msn.com/Anti-spam/. Violations will result in use of equipment located in California and other states. Sat, 9 Apr 2005 02:24:14 -0700 It is 297 characters long. It will be 298 characters long tomorrow (10 vs 9). A small point - but could still be a factor of making it intermittent. It contains a single single quote. Now we should only 'pay attention' to the 220 - but... If there is any fancy debugging or logging going on - a single quote... You know the code and I don't.
