(Linux) SVGALIB vs. X windows MAME

Someone was asking the merits of SVGALIB vs X for Mame.

(In general) SVGALIB is faster. But it does depend heavily on the quality of the
XFree86 imp. for your card vs. SVGALIBs support.

Efficient SVGALIB support is a bit lacking on some cards (eg. doesn't
(extensively) make use of the card's hardware acceleration etc).
