My results: Using -fullcreen I get black bands over and behind the screen, if monitor's resolution does not match game resolution (which happens nearly always).
If you have a 3d capable graphics card, you can have the screen filled, using hadware smoothing (-glaa). I do this by using a cabinet file which takes the whole screen (mail me and I will send it). The result is not bad, but scanlines would help making it look better (hardw. smooth + scanlines looks really great on winkawaks). Anyway, -scanlines does not work at all. I think there should be some opengl mode that draws scanlines automatically. That's it.
