When building v0.76.1 and v0.77.1 on an UltraSparc 5, Solaris 9 and GCC v3.3
(I think 3.3) I have to do the following to get a working XMAME/XMESS.
(I also have to this on my little SparcLX workstation running Solaris 8 and
GCC)
In the main Makefile/Makefile.unix there's the following lines..
# Solaris/SunOS
# ARCH = solaris
# For Solaris, add paths where other stuff is; libjpeg and so on...
# CFLAGS += -I/usr/local/include -I/usr/sfw/include
# LDFLAGS += -L/usr/local/lib -L/usr/sfw/lib
If I uncomment the CFLAGS and LDFLAGS, it breaks XMAME/XMESS so I just use
the ARCH = solaris line.
I have to comment out "X11_XV = 1" as well.
Down in the XIL section there's the following....
# The XIL library (Solaris 2.5.1 and higher)
# X11_XIL = 1
# Turn off the annoying obsolesence message if XIL is enabled
# CFLAGS += -DSUNXIL_WARNING_DISABLE
XIL dosen't work with Solaris since I've been building on Solaris starting
with Solaris 7 and the extra CFLAGS to disable the XIL obsolesence message
dosen't work and produces a broken XMESS/XMAME executable.
