Earnie:

It does create the shared and static libraries, so I'm all set. but it chokes 
before creating xmllint, so it's not entirely benign.

You can ignore the error since it was trying to remove a non-existent
file or directory.  You can research [email protected] to determine
if a bug report has been given but I've seen this quite often so
probably it has already.
