As some of you may
recall, I've been advocating the combined use of XML, SQL-DDL/ODBC/JDBC,
and LDAP technologies for quite a while, working primarily from the
"vision" of structured data illustrated at http://one-world-is.com/rer/owis/dem/slides/sld090.htm,
with further explanation at slide 90 of http://one-world-is.com/rer/owis/dem2k/default_files/frame.htm.
A new company called
RadiantLogic (http://www.radiantlogic.com) has now
released an interesting product (RadiantOne server) that presents the content
and structure of relational database as an LDAP Directory, and then makes that
content and structure accessible as XML and LDAP.
I encourage you to
examine this company and product.
