Alan Kotok Director, Education and Information Resources Data Interchange Standards Association [EMAIL PROTECTED] +1 703-518-4174 ============ DISA Issues Call for Participation in Annual E-Business and Internet Conference San Francisco, March 7-9, 2001 Alexandria, Va., July 10, 2000 -- The Data Interchange Standards Association (DISA) issued today a call for people and companies to take part in its annual E-Business and Internet Conference, March 7-9, 2001 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. This event, the 14th annual conference for DISA, provides the leading forum for organizations using electronic business technologies, from simple bar codes through real-time integrated systems, to tell their stories. "DISA puts the booming growth of e-business in real-time perspective," said DISA President and CEO Kerry C. Stackpole, CAE. "While talking about e-commerce before the Internet can seem almost prehistoric, DISA was there with electronic data interchange (EDI) and is leading the way with our Extensible Markup Language (XML) initiatives. Today's dot-com enterprises and brick n' mortar firms can learn many valuable lessons from those who pioneered today's electronic economy. " DISA's E-Business and Internet Conference will present a series of in-depth technical tutorials and industry roundtables on March 7. The event will follow with 64 different ground-breaking technical sessions, along with an executive panel, industry analyst panel, and a keynote address. DISA's annual exposition, held in conjunction with the conference, will feature new products and services from the world's leading e-business companies. The call for participation extends through Aug. 9 and seeks case studies and technical papers in the areas of Extensible Markup Language (XML) and related Internet technologies, security, business processes and strategies, financial applications, and e-business and society. Speakers selected by a DISA advisory committee of industry leaders will receive a complimentary conference registration and recognition as an innovator in the cutting-edge world of e-business. The call for participation form is available on the DISA Web site at http://www.disa.org/conference/annual_conf/docs/CFP2001_flyer21.PDF DISA.org, the association driving global e-business, is the leading provider of educational and networking forums on the booming digital marketplace. Propelling e-business initiatives, DISA also provides technical and management services to standards and XML specification development organizations, including the Accredited Standards Committee X12, the OpenTravel Alliance, the Interactive Financial Exchange Forum, the Mortgage Industry Standards Maintenance Organization, and the XML/EDI Group. DISA's affiliation with the Hotel Electronic Distribution Network Association, EC User Groups and emerging initiatives around the world facilitates an interchange of e-commerce topics hitting the marketplace. In other international arenas, DISA and ASC X12 serve as the entry point for the United States into the United Nations/Electronic Data Interchange for Administration, Commerce and Transport (UN/EDIFACT), an international standard relating to the exchange of trade goods and services. ------ XML/edi Group Discussion List ------ Homepage = http://www.XMLedi-Group.org Unsubscribe = send email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Leave the subject and body of the message blank Questions/requests: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To receive only one message per day (digest format) send the following message to [EMAIL PROTECTED], (leave the subject line blank) digest xmledi-group your-email-address To join the XML/edi Group complete the form located at: http://www.xmledi-group.org/xmledigroup/mail1.htm
