Dear Brian and Group,
I do not know the specifics of your allegations but there certainly an
element of insularity within this group. It appears to be a "Trust me, I
work with EDI" attitude.
One of my interests in 'intelligent messages' using CORBA-based objects,
either people are try to preserve the status quo within the EDI market
or I'm failing to explain how and why thing need to change.
XML is all about openness and interoperability not VANs and flat
messages.
Most of the tools and processes currently uses will not survive the
coming earthquake of smarter / faster communications.
How can people seriously talk about using VANs and flat messages when my
WAP phone / PDA has a 2 MBit/sec wireless Internet connection and more
computer power than a low end Pentium?
Data schemas and Enterprise Architecture Integration (EAI) is the name
of the game. Empowerment of people and freeing clients to do
transitions with ****ANYBODY***** not just EDI people.
