TO: XML/EDI Group

Many of us who work in the e-business field often toil in obscurity,
particularly when the functions we perform are considered
'back-office'. At DISA, we would like to give recognition to working
e-business applications, wherever they sit in the organization, with
something called the E-Business Enterprise (EBE) Award that we will present
at our annual conference on 8 March 2001 in San Francisco.

The EBE Award will go to the entering organization with the most innovative
application using business-to-business data exchange in operation for at
least six months. In fact, all entrants representing operational systems
in place for six months and using business-to-business data exchanges will
receive recognition as nominees. We feel it is just as important to note
the extent of working applications out there as much as a winning entry.

Nominations may come from individual companies, as well as vendors or
industry associations who have clients or members with working e-business
systems that would like to get the recognition they deserve. The Board of
Directors of the EC Institute, the organization building a certification
program for e-business professionals, will judge the entries. The deadline
for entries is 12 January 2001.

For more information about the EBE Award, see the DISA Web site at
