We using XML and cXML successfully. We have had our experience with
"flavors" and it has taken some handholding to get going but for the most
part it has been pretty easy. We are using XML to "tap out" from our
ecommerce products and pull catalog content into our procurement
applications. We utilize XML for our outbound POs and to import invoices as
well. We have built a transformation piece so that we can import XML
catalogs of different flavors without allot of additional mapping. We are
experiencing the "not so standard standard" problem but XML is new and this
is to be expected. The most important thing is recognizing that some
business documents i.e. Purchase Orders, Invoices, Advanced Shipping notices
etc. are pretty standard so these will be easier to get going than some of
the other documents.
Thanks,
Tim
