Very important at the XML area are the XSLT language. I think only XSLT based translators will be able to handle XML data in a good way in the future. So give a look at XSLT based translators.
At the end of last month there was a discusion here about XSLT based translators. There was mentioned the follow translators: Whitehill <xsl> Composer, Netfish Technologies and mendelson XML/EDI translator which based on the Open Source m-e-c eagle technologie.

http://www.mendelson-e-c.com/We were looking at different translators recently - they all seem to do the basic operations expected of them - however as you try to start talking about XML ....etc...they can get fancy and so does the price. Some of them offer additional features - as options, so you can consider it at a later stage if required (by then who knows how much things will have changed). One of the important things you may want to consider is the company's strategy on how they plan to intergrate/extend their products to incorporate XML oriented technologies.
