I agree with you also, but ...
We shouldn't let one bad apple ruin it for the rest of us. There will always be
someone who does something rude and immature and this is a perfect example.
But I think if we want to continue to keep this forum alive then we have to deal with
these situations as they occur, and in the meantime until this can be dealt with, we
should just press the delete button to message such as those we are talking about. We
need to keep this communication open, and just ignore the ignorant among us. I don't
think unsubscribing will accomplish anything, other than avoiding the distasteful
messages and undermining our ability to have professional discussions over the net.

I have been a silent participant keeping up with XML initiatives through
the xmledi-group email chain. I have been doing EDI for several years
and am trying to learn about XML and the possible relation between the
two. Until today I have been excited about the XML news and the
willingness to share information...even with competitors.
The following email was received this afternoon. My question: Where is
the sysop? My first impression was that this was a group of
professionals interested in moving xml forward. Now, I'm not so sure. Is
there a way to remove people from this service when they are less than
professional? If not, please remove my name from your email list.
