Mike,
Well there are two things when you are going to be using webmethods.

1) Webmethods client.
This is like say if company "A" has a e-commerce application and would
like to have a hyper link on the app to punch out to "Office DEpot" they
(Office DEpot ) will give company "A" a client license. You need to have a
webmethods machine with the client software installed.

Cost for company "A" is just the server cost.

2) Webmethods server
If you would like to perform as a hub i.e as "Office DEpot" then you
need to get the webmethods server. The cost for this typically
around$100,000 - $150,000 depending on what deal you get. The installation
of the webmethods server is nothing but enabling the license key on you
existing webmethods client server unless you want to get another bigger
machine. It is very fast and easy. Once you become the HUB you will get x
number of client licenses depending upon the deal you get.

And I guess now they also have a TP (trading partner server) and lot
more..

HTH
