Message text written by "Ken North" > Last week Oracle announced release 2 of Oracle 9i Application Server during a keynote at Oracle Open World. To demonstrate the new functionality included in the product, Oracle ran an e-business scenario based on RosettaNet and ebXML messaging.
It's likely ebXML support will become a "must-have" feature for application server vendors. <<<<< Ken, I was sat on the plane to Orlando next to Oracles rep' for their stunt plane! He had an impromptu lesson in 'what is XML?'. At XML 2001 here in Orlando I'm sure there are going to be more announcements. XML Global announced Friday that their Central and Registry products are now shipping (see http://ww.xmlglobal.com to download copies ), that enable full use of ebXML interchanges and Registry functionality. Alan Kotok as the roving report @ XML 2001 I'm sure will be reporting on developments as they happen. We look forward to ebXML implementations being ubiquitous by the end of 2002. Clearly Oracle are making a strong statement here already.
