I'm not sure to understand what you are talking about.

* We do have an auto-save feature. You need to turn it on using
Options|Preferences, Save Options, "Automatically save modified
documents" checkbox. See
http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/_distrib/doc/help/com.xmlmind.guiutil.PreferencesEditorDialog.html#saveOptions

* If XMLmind XML Editor suddenly crashed and you lost 5 hours of work,
[1] please receive our apologies for that, [2] note that you are the
first user since several years[*][**] to report such problem, [3] please
tell us how to reproduce the problem so we can fix it in next release.

* If you no longer trust XMLmind XML Editor and prefer to stop using it,
we'll understand that very well. In such case, do not hesitate to ask
for a refund. Simply contact [email protected] for that.

[*] The problem was caused by Java, not by our code, which didn't like
some ATI or (was it NVidia?) graphics card drivers. The workaround was
to add "-Dsun.java2d.d3d=false" to the command-line used to start
XMLmind XML Editor.

[**] In fact, XMLmind XML Editor very easily crashes when it runs out of
memory. See FAQ: http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/faq.html#outofmemory
