Hussein, Attached find a different dtd and mod file for my syllabus specialization of a DITA topic.
I discovered that I had incorrectly specified the content for the courseinfo element, which now consists of the same content as a generic paragraph. These files work with the DITA Open Toolkit to produce the HTML attached. One thing I noticed when I tried to transform the XML here to HTML using XXE, was that the XML menu did NOT turn to a DITA menu. Therefore, no transform was available through XXE. The DTD DOES work to let you create a syllabus XML file as a DITA specialization, as it did before.
