[1] Open the big document in XXE. Let's call it big.xml [2] Open or create a new document in XXE. Let's call it new.xml. [3] Switch to big.xml and explicitly select the section you want to include in new.xml. If this section has no id yet, please give it an id attribute now. [4] Use "Edit|Document Reference|Copy As Reference" (Shift-Ctrl-C) to copy a *reference* to the section. The clipboard tool will then show word "section" using a dimmed, blue gray, color. [5] Switch to new.xml. Select the element after which you want paste the section. [6] Use "Edit|Paste After" (Ctrl-W). A dialog box is displayed to inform you that you are pasting a *reference*. Click OK. [7] A reference to the section of big.xml is then pasted inside new.xml. This reference cannot be modified within the view of new.xml and therefore, is displayed using dimmed, blue gray, background. [8] Save new.xml. It now includes a section contained inside big.xml. Behind the scene, the mecanism used to perform the inclusion is the XInclude standard (http://www.w3.org/TR/xinclude/). You could have learned all this by yourself by taking the time to read: http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/_distrib/doc/user/tutorial_modular_document.html
