Well, I tried these using Windows 2000 *Professional* (SP3, I think): --- C:\> "C:\Program Files\XMLmind_XML_Editor\bin\xxe.exe" "C:\Program Files\XMLmind_XML_Editor\demo\xhtml-table.xhtml" C:\> "C:\Program Files\XMLmind_XML_Editor\bin\xxe.exe" file:/C:/Program%20Files/XMLmind_XML_Editor/demo/xhtml-table.xhtml C:\> "C:\Program Files\XMLmind_XML_Editor\bin\xxe.exe" file:///C:/Program%20Files/XMLmind_XML_Editor/demo/xhtml-table.xhtml --- and they work fine. Double-clicking on a file to open the file in XXE works fine too (of course, after declaring to the Windows file manager that the corresponding type of file is to be opened using XXE).
