This is really a problem between Java and icewm (I have reproduced it very easily). If you want to keep icewem as your Window Manager, the workarounds are: * Switch to Java 1.4.2 * OR keep Java 1.5 but edit the XXE_install_dir/bin/xxe shell script using a text editor and *uncomment* the line --- ###opt="-Dawt.toolkit=sun.awt.motif.MToolkit" --- (that is, remove the leading "###") * OR switch to Java 1.6 beta 2.
