It turns out that the *correct* config wasn't loaded at all, whereas there existed an old config on a drive I didn't know I had access to (this is all on a terminal server, with user accounts mapped to one of several drives/servers, and my account got moved some time ago, seemingly without moving everything properly). Sooo - no bug in XXE :-) - but an incorrect user account setup that I couldn't have diagnosed without your help. Thanks a lot! Sjur
