I use XXE version 3.10 on Linux (Fedora Core 4, with Sun's JDK 1.5.0_06). For some reason, the XXE dialogs pop up with a significant delay. Even the File->Open file chooser has a very noticeable delay. And not just the first time, but every time it pops up. The frame shows right away, then it takes forever for the contents to fill in.
I run several other Java applications, and never saw anything like it. I poked around in the xxe startup script, and uncommented opt="-Dawt.toolkit=sun.awt.motif.MToolkit" Then that problem went away, but now the Edit tool goes crazy when I want to insert a new element. That's really weird--again, I have never seen anything like it, and I've programmed in Swing for years. I am running WindowMaker, not Gnome or KDE.
