http://forums.java.net/jive/thread.jspa?forumID=25&threadID=15115 sounds vaguely similar to what I have. I'll keep my eyes on it. I am wondering whether the culprit is again my old nemesis, Emacs. I purposefully didn't use Emacs for several days, and I had no problems with XXE. As soon as I load Emacs and work with it a bit, my problem comes back. I tried tinkering with my Emacs setup. Setting x-select-enable-clipboard to t seems to cause the slowdown, so I wonder if there is another clipboard race condition. Cheers, Cay -- Cay S.
