Please download and install the plug-in which is needed to support SVG --> batik_imagetoolkit-211.zip or batik_imagetoolkit-211.tar.gz found in http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/plugins.shtml and then open XXE_install_dir/demo/docbook-image.xml and see by yourself. Reading the text of the docbook-image.xml demo is also very useful: it is a tour of the graphics capabilities of XXE.
