Thank you very much for this information (which we didn't know: mastering Microsoft technologies being a full time job; and a really hard one). However, IMHO, "%SystemDrive%\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data" while much longer than "%APPDATA%" (and may be not as accurate as "%APPDATA%"), is more descriptive than "%APPDATA%".
