I must have confused myself somewhere. I have a file I use as an external
entity for docbook. The file is:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<appendix>
<title>Schemas</title>
<para>Each schema represents a class of XML documents that can be
edited
directly in Altova Authentic 2005 through a webdav interface
to Oracle
XMLDB. There are five classes of XML schema used in Course
and
Unit:</para>

When I edit this file using XXE it is recognised as a docbook file with the list
of elements available etc.
I have a different file for an external entity that is not being recognised by
XXE as a docbook file:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<preface>
<title>Preface</title>
<para>??</para>
<much snipped text...>
</preface>
In the options I have Simulate a document type checked for when there is no DTD
or schema. Is there another option somewhere I can change that will enable this
file to be recognised a docbook file?
