To our knowledge, there is no error in the "dbhierx.mod" bundled with XXE but you are probably *not* using the "dbhierx.mod" bundled with XXE. For example, try to open <XXE_install_dir>/demo/docbook-table.xml. This document is also DocBook 4.3 XML file. You need to send me the document that you cannot open if you want a better diagnostic.
