There are two different types of X selections; named PRIMARY and CLIPBOARD. "marking something in an xterm" (and, generally, in any app) makes it PRIMARY; clicking on "copy" in apps that have that option copies it to CLIPBOARD. The change in xxe based on the checkbox is to allow it to use PRIMARY (since that's all xterm supports by default), rather than only using CLIPBOARD. The xterm resources that Hussein posted cause xterm to use CLIPBOARD for its selection, which is why it then enables pasting into xxe using ctl-v. Bill
