The XMLmind XML Editor (XXE) seems to lay out marker blocks in the
padding of the element for which the marker is placed :before (or
:after). In order to be able to control things like the
(text-)alignment of markers in that space, it would be nice to be able
to specify the width of the marker block. CSS2 section 12.6, "Markers
and lists"[0], talks about various things that one could do by
specifically specifying such a width.

While we're at it, I'll ask for support of the marker-offset property,
although I think support of the width property would be more useful in
general.

Thanks for listening,

    John L. Clark
