Because we, XMLmind, did not bother doing it... XXE is not a DocBook editor. It is a generic, extensible, XML editor. This means that we do not except to earn money by being a better DocBook editor. For us, DocBook is just a use-case among many others. That's why the DocBook configuration which is included in XXE must be considered as being a starting point for serious work. Please feel free to improve it. If you cannot do that because XXE is not extensible and/or not powerful enough, be sure that we will work hard to quickly enhance our XML editor.
