I don't know which kind of XML document you are writing. Is it XTML? is it DocBook? do you use a custom DTD? If you are write a DocBook document, you need: [1] To specify an "id "attribute for the link target. [2] To insert a <link> element or to select some text and then convert it to a <link> element. [3] To specify the "linkend" attribute of the newly created <link> element. Please make sure to read our tutorial as XMLmind XML Editor is not intuitive to use (just like some audio records are not immediately pleasing to listen to :-). See http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/_distrib/docs/user/userguide2.html#id.s2 Note that your question is not directly related to our product. Please consult the documentation of the document type you use. For example, for DocBook, please read http://www.docbook.org/tdg/en/html/docbook.html
