Hello Hussein,

first of all I want to thank you for fixing the "document reference" bug so
quickly. I am really impressed how efficient XMLmind handles bug reports.

Revert to saved
===============
I see now that this menu item is not needed. The reload feature does just what
I want.

Language selection
==================

It is of course true that most people prefer software set to their own mother
tongue. And as a German native speaker, I can also confirm that the
translations of all XXE menus and messages is excellent.

So why do I ask for an option to change the interface language?

First of all, not every computer user in a country was born in this country. At
universities or large institutes, for example, you may find guests from all
parts of the world. Someone from Italy or Russia may prefer his/her own mother
tongue as an interface language. Or, if this translation is not available,
English will be the best choice.

My personal reasons: I have seen that it is not possible to find all the
software that I use with a German interface. But an English interface is always
available. It is easier for me to use the same language for all programs (File
Edit View etc.) In the end it is less confusing and much easier.

Besides, in some cases the translation to German is so ugly that I wouldn't
want to use it anyway. A high-quality translation as in the case of XXE is hard
to find.

For these reasons, I think that the end user should decide about the interface
language. Editing batch files is one way to do so, but clicking a drop-down
list is more convenient. It seems preferable even if the program has to be
restarted for changes to take effect.

My general opinion of XXE
=========================

XXE has become my favorite XML editor. I see great care and beauty in every
detail of the program.

I use a simple text-based editor in addition to XXE. This is necessary because
XXE prevents the document from becoming invalid. But when changing the
structure it is hard to avoid an invalid document for a short time. The other
editor is used for this kind of "repair" work.

Last Friday I had to give a talk about XML at the "Tecom Forum 2004" in
Rapperswil, Switzerland. This was a meeting of approx. 100 professional
technical writers from Germany and Switzerland.

In this talk I also presented a list of recommended XML editors, and XXE was
the first choice in this list. It really is a lot of fun to use this beautiful
editor. I was able to write a DocBook document with pictures in a very short
time. As soon as our company decides to get serious with XML I will buy the
professional version of XXE. And I hope for you that other users will do the
same thing.

With kind regards,
Henry

P.S. I recently noticed another small bug. I will send this bug report in a
separate mail.

There is no such menu item because there are other ways to do that:

* Use file menu to reload the first recently opened file (Shortcut: type
Alt-F and then type 1)

* OR drag the little icon, shaped like a bookmark, found in the node
path bar, to the document view.

We don't understand this. Generally people prefer to use software
translated to their native language.

Note that XXE has been translated to German by a *German* *user of XXE*
who has *volunteered* to do it.

Even if we don't speak German here at XMLmind, we cannot imagine that he
did a poor-quality translation.
