We are using <programlisting>s all the time here at XMLmind and we would have noticed such nasty behavior. This problem probably means that you are not using the DocBook DTD which is bundled with XXE. The DocBook DTD (and Simplified DocBook and Slides too) has been specially modified by us: see http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/_distrib/docs/user/userguide5.html#id.s5 The problem may come from: * An XML catalog of yours which points to your own unmodified DocBook DTD. * OR Your documents are directly using your own unmodified DocBook DTD (typically because Oasis has released a new version and you wan this version not the older one). * OR The bundled XML catalog (XXE_install_dir/config/catalog.xml) has been removed or modified.
