Hello, I do not know if I can send a general question here like in a forums or if I can only report problems. My apologies if this is the incorrect place.
Now that Docbook works so smoothly I am transitioning all of our documents into Docbook from Framemaker and drop each version into a CVS system. There are a couple of issues that I have. 1) I want to eventually buy the full version to work with Modular documents but for now I am using the free version. I see that modular documents are very limited in the free version. Because much of our documents will need to be translated I was hoping to just have the translator download the Standard version of XXE to edit the document. But I think I will loose certain links in modular documents if I do this. 2) has anyone used or customized XXE for translation work. It would be nice to: a) have a document only show text that needs to be translated b) to be able to open up 2 documents for line by line comparison (preferably with linked scrolling) c) make a difference between old and new documents to see what has changed (and preferably patch those differences into the multi-language docs so that the changed parts show up in the base language - English) Essentially the structure is always the same between documents of the same version... same number of paragraphs and such. I will keep checking on the Internet for some ideas too :) Thanks, Shawn Giese
