Your questions are not private inquiries about XMLmind XML Editor. They are of general interest.
Therefore I've taken the liberty to ``Cc:'' them to the public mailing list. From now, please send this kind of questions to the public mailing list: xmleditor-support at xmlmind.com. Note that you don't need to subscribe to this public mailing list to send questions and to receive their answers. Lisa Girard wrote: > Can I just ask you a couple more quick DocBook > questions? After I save a XML/DocBook file and view it in my browser > (Mozilla) it does not appear formatted. What am I doing wrong? The DocBook configuration included in XXE has not been designed to do that. Normally, the author uses the DocBook menu to convert his/her document to HTML and then use any browser to check the result. However feel free to change our DocBook configuration. Here's how (in the following example, we use template document article.xml as an example): [1] Use a text editor and open XXE_install_dir/config/docbook/template/article.xml --- <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?> <!DOCTYPE article PUBLIC "-//OASIS//DTD DocBook XML V4.2//EN" "http://www.oasis-open.org/docbook/xml/4.2/docbookx.dtd"> <article> <title></title> <section> <title></title> <para></para> </section> </article> --- [2] Add this line after the XML declaration (i.e. after <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>): --- <?xml-stylesheet type="text/css" href="...my_CSS_style_sheet..."?> --- or --- <?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="...my_XSL_style_sheet..."?> --- Do not use the docbook.css included in the XXE distribution. This CSS style sheet has been tuned for XXE and would give very poor results with Mozilla. [3] Start XXE. Open the Options dialog box, Open tab, and check "Ignore <?xml-stylesheet?>". This tells XXE not to use the style sheet specified in the "<?xml-stylesheet?>" processing instruction of the opened document and, as usual, to use the docbook.css included in the XXE distribution. [4] Write a new article using the modified template. Save it. [5] Preview it in Mozilla. > Second, I am having trouble getting bold text. I cannot reproduce this problem. When I select some text and use the text styles menu in the tool bar and then choose "emphasis[bold]", the text appears as bold in the editor (unless, of course, the text was already styled using a bold font such as inside a <section><title>, in which case, there is no style change).
