It is possible to embed XXE in your own JAVA application see (http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/_distrib/docs/dev/index.html) for more information. But the problem with applets is that they run at the client side, therefore an Applet runs in a secure sandbox protecting the applet from using the clients resources like the hard disk and printer. So the problem you will ran into is that you gone have problems loading and saving the xml files.
What I do for editing and posting XML files back is a Servlet which set's the content type to XML and tells the browser to not open the XML file it self but download it. On the client side the XXE is started and the document is loaded, I've wrote a custom command to send the XML file back as a post action to a Servlet. You might want to take a look at the web-start XXE maybe that comes handy (http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/_distrib/docs/poweruser/ar01s03s03.html) Stefan Lenselink Finalist IT Group Java Specialists ------------------------------------------------------------- Amsterdam, The Netherlands Office: +31 20 596 23 30 Fax: +31 20 596 23 31 Web: http://finalist.com ------------------------------------------------------------- De informatie opgenomen in dit bericht kan vertrouwelijk zijn en is uitsluitend bestemd voor de geadresseerde.
