The problem you have is probably not specific to XXE. Make sure that other Java applications run on your system. What you describe may be caused by j2re 1.4.1_02 using an old glibc and/or an old libstdc++ which has not been installed on your system (this happened to me with SuSE 8.2). If this is the case, you can either: * Install old glibc and/or old libstdc++ (there is probably a compatibility RPM for that). * OR upgrade Java to latest 1.4.2.
