Among the changes for XXE 2.4 is the following:
* Only on Linux: ugly Metal look has been
replaced by cool Kunststoff look
([2]http://www.incors.org/). (Unfortunately,
Java[tm] 1.4.2 new GTK Look and Feel is even
uglier that Metal.)
I prefer the Metal look because it is lighter on the eye, even if it's
ugly. Is there any way to tell XXE to use the Metal look?
Another alternative might be to use https://looks.dev.java.net/ (BSD
license, so should be ok I guess).
