XXE is not a DocBook editor. It is a generic XML editor, therefore *all*
elements of *any* DTD/XML-Schema are automatically supported.

You probably tried to insert a refentry (note lower-case name for
DocBook XML) starting from the wrong place, though inside the right
elements.

The DTD says that refentries are located at the end of sections,
chapters, etc, that is, after ordinary elements like para, table, lists,
etc.

Therefore, for example, please do this:

[1] File|New, DocBook, Article.
[2] Click on the last ``ink blob'' which the placeholder for
article/sect1/para (the node path bar shows you where you are).
[3] Use command Insert After and choose refentry from the list.

All this is explained in the tutorial, really a must read.

PS: The CSS style sheet probably needs to be improved for refentries
(for most other elements, it is OK). We are working on this, but it is a
huge task as we are completely rewriting the CSS style sheet for DocBook
4.2.
