I cannot answer your question: I don't use Xalan at all. May be you just need to define an environment variable to make Xalan XML-catalog aware... PS: I use "XMLmind FO Converter - XSL Utility", which is XML-catalog aware. See http://www.xmlmind.com/foconverter/xslutility.html
