XMLmind develops two products: XML Editor (XXE) and FO Converter (XFC). FO Converter is a professional-quality XSL-FO to RTF converter.
Like XXE M1 and future Standard Edition, XFC Personal Edition can be used at no charge. Now XFC comes with a graphical tool called XSL Utility. This tool has been created mainly to ease the evaluation of XFC. Hopefully, it may also ease the evaluation of the overall XSL technology and contribute to promote its daily use. We send you this announce which is not directly related to XXE, because we think that you might be interested by XFC and its XSL Utility for the following reasons: * Everything needed to convert XML documents to HTML, RTF, PDF (Acrobat), PostScript, is included in the XFC distribution. * XSL Utility has out of the box support for DocBook, Simplified DocBook and Slides documents, thanks to Norman Walsh's XSL stylesheets. * XSL Utility can use XML catalogs to resolve the reference to the DTD of an XML document. The XML catalog bundled with XSL Utility is configured for the DocBook, Simplified DocBook and Slides DTDs. * XMLmind FO Converter supports nearly all the XSL spec and generates RTF that looks great when loaded into MS-Word. * Conversion can be initiated by dragging and dropping an XML document on XSL Utility (on Windows and Mac). Note that for output formats other than RTF, XSL Utility relies on OpenSource components such as Saxon and FOP. For more information, see http://www.xmlmind.com/foconverter
