If I select range of characters (pink background), and then I press Ctrl+T (or Ctrl+Shift+T), XXE simply will not offer the "link" element. (As a workaround I can insert a "link" element, and then copy-paste the #text into its body.) This problem only occurs with DocBook 5. A RELAX NG related bug maybe.
