I'm sorry but this problem has nothing to do with XMLmind XML Editor. 
You need to change the settings of your FTP server in order to fix the 
problem.

For example, on my machine, the FTP server allows me (user: hussein) to 
browse '/', but '/' is in fact my home directory, and not the root of 
the file system. See attached screen shots.

Note that this behavior depends on the user who connects to the FTP 
server. User #1 may see the actual '/', while user #2 sees his home 
directory as being '/'.
