Out of the box, the answer is no. However, writing a custom command in
Java[tm] should make this possible.

The answer is of course yes. Please take the time to read this tutorial:

* If you want to select some text in the XML Editor and display the
definition of a word taken from the Duden, a custom command written in
Java[tm] should make this possible.

* If you want to replace the German word list used for spell checking by
another word list automatically extracted from the Duden, the answer is
yes, but you'll have to purchase the word list from Duden (or find a way
to extract it from Duden's software). See
http://www.xmlmind.com/spellchecker/dictbuilder.shtml

I would suggest to contact your ``colleagues from Austria'' (Roman
Huditsch - LNG-VIE - Roman DOT Huditsch AT lexisnexis DOT at) who are
long time XMLmind XML Editor customers (and also seem to be custom
command *developers*).
