Understand.  FWIW, jEdit (an open source programmer's editor written in
Java) has a plugin with FTP and SFTP support
(http://plugins.jedit.org/plugins/?FTP).  I don't know how easy (or
ethical, since XMLmind is not open source?) it would be to borrow their
plugin's source code.

I let them know, but I suspect we have a low priority (relative to the
amount of work) to them, too :-(.
