I fear you're going to tell me this is not an XMLmind problem, but I'll
try anyway.
We have a DocBook document created with XMLmind which includes
characters in the IPA Extension and Bengali ranges of Unicode. The IPA
font displays correctly in XMLmind with the default sans serif font, but
you may recall a thread awhile back in which we figured out how to
persuade XMLmind to use the Windows Vrinda font to display the Bengali
characters (since the Arial Unicode MS font does not correctly display
Bengali). The fix involved editing the
Java/jre1.5.0_02/lib/fontconfig.properties.src file.
Export to RTF and to HTML preserves the IPA and Bengali characters.
However, when I use the DocBook | Convert document | Convert to PDF
command, I get out a reasonably good PDF...except that all the IPA and
Bengali characters have been replaced by the '#' character.
Any suggestions on how to preserve the non-ASCII characters when I
convert to PDF?
This is with XMLmind Professional Edition, v3.6.0, and the Apache FOP
processor plug-in v. 0.93, and the XMLmind FO Converter Personal Edition
v3.1 (hmm--why the personal edition??), Java Built-in javax.imageio
1.5.0_02.
