Any seasoned XML author who is happy with Emacs/JEdit/Oxygen/XMLSpy/Whatever cannot possibly be satisfied with XXE. Our recommendation in this case is simply to ignore our product. > > My own wishes are: > subversion support > raw source view (perhaps this already exists, I can't find it though) See http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/how_to.html#source_view for a workaround. > honour custom entities defined in the !DOCTYPE, and preserve the entity > references instead of globally replacing the text > multiple views on the same document Multiple *synchronized* views of the same document are already implemented. See the "Add" menu item in http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/_distrib/doc/help/viewMenu.html Frankly what you describe is *really* *not* where we would like to go. I hope that you also ask the FSF to implement a styled view in Emacs ;-) --- PS: Personally, I exclusively use Emacs as a text/programmer's editor since 15 years and I'm pretty happy with it. That's why, despite the fact that all my friends tell me that I'm corny and that I should switch to Eclipse, I don't see any compelling reason to switch to another tool.
