Just some interpretive background on this comment, David: > E.G. OT uses 1.1. DTDs (Even though these are currently Ctte. Draft!)
The OASIS DITA 1.1 Committee Draft Schemas/DTDs are in the Toolkit to enable early adopters to start evaluating their future use of 1.1 features. Those schemas are *backwards compatible in processing* with the 1.0.1 schemas--all your previous content should continue to work as before when processed in the latest DITA Open Toolkit. Until DITA 1.1 is formally approved as a Specification by OASIS, I recommend that you continue to use the 1.0.1 schemas for creating business-critical documentation. On the other hand, using XXE to create new content with the 1.1 draft schemas would be a great way to anticipate how the new features will benefit your organization once this version is approved. Nothing wrong with this--just be aware of the risks. Regards, -- Don Day Chair, OASIS DITA Technical Committee IBM Lead DITA Architect Email: dond at us.ibm.com 11501 Burnet Rd.
