--> Only XMLmind XML Editor *Professional* Edition has a
"DocBook|Convert Document" submenu.

When this submenu exists, its menu items are never disabled/grayed (when
a DocBook document is being edited).

On the other hand, XMLmind XML Editor *Personal* Edition has no
"DocBook|Convert Document" submenu at all.

By getting an evaluation key from here:

http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/evaluate.html

and installing this evaluation key using "Help|Install Evaluation Key",
you'll temporarily transform Personal Edition into Evaluation Edition
which also has a "DocBook|Convert Document" submenu.

So the first step is to make sure that you are actually running XMLmind
XML Editor Professional Edition. Please use "Help|About" to check this.

--> Now let's assume that you have XMLmind XML Editor Professional
Edition (or Evaluation Edition).

You'll be able out of the box to convert your DocBook documents to HTML,
HTML Help, JavaHelp, Epub, Eclipse Help.

In order to be able to convert your DocBook documents to PDF and
PostScript, you need to install the add-on called "Apache FOP 1.x XSL-FO
processor plug-in".

In order to be able to convert your DocBook documents to RTF, WordML,
.docx, .odt, you need to install the add-on called "XMLmind FO Converter
XSL-FO processor plug-in".

Installing such add-ons is in principle very easy. Use "Options|Install
Add-ons". Select the add-ons using the displayed dialog box. Click OK.
Accept all the suggested dependencies. Restart XMLmind XML Editor as
suggested. More information in
http://www.xmlmind.com/xmleditor/_distrib/doc/help/com.xmlmind.xmleditapp.app.part.InstallAddonsDialog.html

Please try to install the "Apache FOP 1.x XSL-FO processor plug-in"
using menu item "Options|Install Add-ons". (This will not work. See
below. However by doing this you'll get acquainted to the process of
installing add-ons.)

--> We keep add-ons online only for the last two versions of XMLmind XML
Editor (that is, 4.4 and 4.3). Unfortunately this means that the
"Options|Install Add-ons" dialog box will *not* show you the add-ons you
need.

Please upgrade to latest version of XMLmind XML Editor using this form:
http://www.xmlmind.com/store/download.php

If for any reasons, you cannot do that, this is not a big problem. Just
inform me of the situation and I'll explain how to change the user
preferences (using "Options|Preferences") to make XMLmind XML Editor
download add-ons from our add-on *archive*.
